Thank you for choosing our school for your child in September – we are really looking forward to welcoming you all then.
As you are aware, due to Covid 19, we have been unable to hold our usual transition sessions where we invite your child into Class 1 to become accustomed to their new surroundings. The children have all regularly seen myself and Mrs Wakeham at Pre-school and to ensure a smooth transition, we have made arrangements for a member of the pre-school staff to accompany them during their first few days of settling into the Reception/Year 1 class.
We would also normally invite parents to an information session, lunch and tour of the school, but again have been unable to do so this year. Therefore, we are giving you the paperwork and information you may need attached to this area of our website; please keep checking this and your emails regularly throughout the summer, as this will be our way of communicating with you.
Please share the Welcome to Class 1 booklet with your child over the summer; this will help the school to become more familiar to them when they arrive.
There is also an All About Me sheet attached which we ask you to complete with your child; this gives us an insight into what your child likes/dislikes and it is a great thing to do together in preparation for starting school.
Mrs Wakeham has also read a story for you to share with your children – do please take a look; Mrs Wakeham loves stories and learning in Class 1 always takes place around an exciting text.
If you still have questions after reading the attached information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
